About Sue Fraser
As a self taught textile artist who has lived in the Scottish Highlands since 1997I paint using wool and silk fibres to recreate my own interpretation of the surrounding countryside.
Using photography, painting and found objects, I enjoy experimenting with light, colour and texture through felt-making. The loose layering and teasing out of the fibres result in unpredictable changes in colour intensity and dimension.
I love the imperfections in felt-making. I never really know exactly how my work might turn out and am delighted when observers find their own interpretations in my work i.e. "that looks like my granny's croft!"
